On a breezy fall day, as I was walking around our local Mulligan Pond in Alexandria, I spied some goose down on the ground. The morning mist was clinging to the downy bits creating a unique photographic opportunity. Due to the wind, I decided to move this shoot indoors where I was able to capture the beauty and rhythm of this amazing feather.
Downy Drops is printed on Aluminum creating a stunning, vibrant, and contemporary piece. The sculptural S-curve brings an added drama and fluidity and we used the inverse (negative) of the image for this S-Curve. The dye sublimation process embeds the photo directly into a specially coated aluminum sheet using heat, time, pressure, and special inks. Aluminum is easy to care for and is humidity and water resistant creating long lasting Art to complete any room in your home.
